The American Institute of Clinical Massage

The goal of the American Institute of Clinical Massage (AiCM) is to help students successfully pass the massage therapy licensing exam. We hire the best instructors, constantly update and review the training material and spend the extra time and energy to make sure our students have the right tools necessary to either start their own business, or be an asset to an establishment, whether its a chiropractic office, Physical Therapy office, hospital, or at one of the many Spas, smaller establishments that specialize in Massage Therapy, or Corporate massage offices. Our students learn all the basics of massage including Swedish massage, lots of focus on Body Mechanics to ensure a long career, when and how to SOAP Chart, learn chair massage, Sports Massage, Medical Massage and so much more.  We work with the community to understand what employers need and have memberships with all the large Massage Therapy Associations so we are on top of our game to ensure the students have the most updated and current knowledge of the Massage Therapy Industry that we can provide.  Federal Financial Aid is available to those who qualify and we offer a unique "Tuition Credit" payment option so our students can graduate debt-free. AiCM is accredited by ACCSC--the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges and in 2018 were awarded as an ACCSC “School of Excellence”

All of us at AiCM including the faculty and staff, will work hard to ensure your successful completion of the program that is designed to prepare you for a new profession.  To this end, we demand dedication, discipline, and determination from every student.  This ensures the community that AiCM certifies only the most vigorously trained and qualified graduates entering this field.

The Massage Therapy Certification Program is completed in 12 months. Our 10 instructors have more than a combined 175 years of experience in the medical and massage fields.

AiCM History

AiCM has been an integral part of the North Idaho and Eastern Washington communities for over 26 years!  The school started in 1996 in a small borrowed office in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The schools grew and gained popularity and moved to a small strip-mall in Hayden, Idaho, in 1996. Then, in 1998, moved to Post Falls Idaho to an even larger facility. It was in the year 2007 the school, clinic, and all the offices moved to the current location in the Highlands Building at 4365 Inverness Drive, Post Falls, Idaho.

May of 2012, The New York School for Medical and Dental Assistants, Inc. (NYSMDA) acquired the assets of the American Institute of Clinical Massage, and then in August of the same year, ACCSC recognized the American Institute of Clinical Massage as a branch campus of NYSMDA. The school has been managed by CLIDO, Inc., which is owned by Clinton Arnaboldi and Douglas K. Jordan. For additional information on NYSMDA click here: www.NYSMDA.com

Our Mission

To serve the community by creating valuable well-trained massage therapists for the spa and healthcare fields of the Inland Northwest.

Accreditation

AiCM is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).  ACCSC has accrediting standards that are designed to enhance the quality of education.  Some of the standards are listed below:

  • to maintain reasonable graduation and employment rates;

  • ensure that instructors possess the educational and occupational experience to be effective teachers;

  • ensure schools are managed by a person or a team of people who have the necessary experience and abilities to effectively manage an institution;

  • conduct regular program advisory board meetings with members of the employment community so that the school's curricula are meeting the needs of the employment community;

  • mandate instructors attend continuing education courses so that they are knowledgeable and up to date in their field of study and that their pedagogical techniques are satisfactory;

  • ensure that the school’s library and learning resources are adequate to support the curriculums that the school offers;

  • ensure that the facilities are adequately maintained;

  • mandate that students have adequate time for hands-on training and practicing on the training equipment and to make sure the equipment is sufficient in quantity and that it is sufficiently up to date and kept in good repair.

The Standard of Accreditation also require the schools to use ethical admissions procedures to ensure that a student is informed of his/her obligations prior to attending and that the student was not pressured into enrolling.

To become accredited and to maintain accreditation status schools must go through a vigorous review process.  For more about ACCSC's accreditation, click here: www.accsc.org.

The list above includes great questions you can ask perspective schools while you are looking for a school to attend, taking tours and gathering information. Remember, the school serves you, the student!
